KIBOU sets opening date for new Instagrammable Japanese restaurant in Solihull

A major refurbishment is underway on a Tier II site in the main street of Solihull, ready for the opening of a brand new restaurant. Japanese kitchen bar KIBOU will be the newest addition to the downtown dining scene.

Foodies will be transported to the eclectic streets of Tokyo as the award-winning chain opens its fourth restaurant in the former Café Rouge unit on Monday, April 25. KIBOU will serve its signature sushi rolls along with a range of classic and contemporary Japanese dishes. – from steaming bowls of ramen to steamed bao buns and handmade gyoza.

The Solihull site promises to be a hit with social media influencers and food bloggers, with its frieze murals and spotlight animations created by talented Gloucestershire artist Martyna Sabadasz. A marble bar and open sushi kitchen with elevated seating will be set against a backdrop of opulent Japanese textiles and wall coverings.

KIBOU is best known for its volcano roll – futomaki with salmon, avocado and tobiko, fried in tempura and served with a homemade sauce. The new restaurant will also feature an extensive vegan offering, a range of ‘moriawase’ sharing platters and Japanese-inspired desserts.

The drink menu will include signature Japanese cocktails, non- and low-temperature options, a selection of whiskey, sake and umeshu, as well as brewed beers and authentic highballs. The restaurant will seat 70 people inside, plus another 25 guests on a Japanese-inspired outdoor terrace.
