GRAND CHUTE – A local Japanese restaurant has quietly closed its doors.
Osaka Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi, at 4421 W. Wisconsin Ave., closed in late March. The restaurant, which served Japanese cuisine including sushi and hibachi, was located just north of the Fox River Mall.
A ‘closed’ sign appeared on the front door of the property earlier this month. After Osaka closed, his kitchen equipment and restaurant supplies were auctioned off by Hansen Auction Group. The auction – which is called the “Osaka Restaurant & Bar Retirement Auctionson Hansen’s website – ran from March 30 to April 13.
The restaurant’s phone number has been disconnected, but Osaka is still listed as open on Google and Facebook. from Osaka Facebook page remains active, even though the company hasn’t posted on it recently.
The Osaka owners could not be reached for comment. Calls to the Neenah-based Hansen Auction Group were not immediately returned.
Osaka Japanese Steak House and Sushi was not affiliated with Osaka Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, a restaurant chain in Florida.
