The sun rises for IHG’s Holiday Inn Express in Japan

A new management agreement with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) will see IHG Hotels and Resorts introduce its value brand Holiday Inn Express in the Japanese city of Osaka and across the country.

The Holiday Inn Express Osaka City Center Midosuji, due to open in December, has been a project in the making for several years, with the brand moving into an existing building on Midosuji Boulevard in the Osaka CBD. The hotel is located near many of the city’s main attractions, including Shinsaibashi shopping, Namba entertainment districts, and Yodoyabashi financial district.

The property will offer its guests a range of budget-friendly facilities and services, including comfortable bedding, high-speed Wi-Fi, a pillow menu and a daily cooked buffet breakfast, which can be served to go. . A complete renovation of the property has been planned and will begin approximately six months after opening.

The new hotel will undergo a major renovation from its first year.
